Last Tuesday, USA Today ran a large Page 1 story under the headline “Invest in Stocks? FORGET ABOUT IT.”. The article’s headline did its job: it caused me to read the article. In it, the author, Adam Shell, investigated individual investor sentiment. Should we heed the article’s advice or is it a time to begin accumulating equities?

As of this writing, both the S&P 500 and NASDAQ reached multi-year highs. While this is great news, you should note that they have yet to surpass all time highs. Is this the all clear sign that investors have been hoping for? Should you, as a recent Goldman report suggested, be overweight equities?
